    Den första tiden kan det kännas lite klurigt att amma en nyföd,  och det kan ta ett tag tills bebisen får rätt tag om bröstet. Här kommer några amningstips på vägen.

    Att amma en nyfödd bebis är ett heltidsjobb och det kan kännas omtumlande för många. Vad som kan vara bra att ha med sig är att ju mer avslappnad du är, desto bättre ter sig amningen. Det tar tid att förstå när din bebis vill ha bröstet och det är inte alltid barnet får rätt grepp, så klandra inte dig själv om det känns tufft.

    Tips när du ska amma nyfödd bebis

    Försök att erbjuda bröstet när barnet gapar upp, och för då ditt barn mot bröstet och inte tvärtom. Amningen är mer än bara mat för din bebis, det är även trygghet och närhet.

    Bröstvårtan ska långt in i barnets gom för att ett vakuum ska kunna bildas, och på så sätt bidra till en effektiv amning. Om barnet tar ett för nätt tag om bröstvårtan kan du med rena händer lätta på suget genom att föra in ett finger i barnets mungipa, då släpps vakuumet och barnet släpper greppet om ditt bröst. Prova sedan igen!

    Du kan hjälpa till att forma bröstet med ett så kallat hamburgegrepp. Då fattar du bröstet som du håller i en hamburgare, dvs pressar ihop bröstet lite försiktigt strax utanför bröstvårtan. Invänta att barnet gapar upp och erbjud bröstet då med hjälp av hamburgergreppet. På så sätt får barnet in merparten av vårta och vårtgård för ett optimalt tag. Ett annat tips är att bebisar tycker om att dricka precis som vi dricker ur ett glas: uppifrån och inte nedifrån.

    Om barnet tar ett för nätt tag om bröstvårtan ser den ofta ojämn ut efter amning. Det kan ofta tid innan amningen känns bra och innan dess kan det hända att du får sår på bröstvårtan, eller att du upplever en smärta som inte släppar när barnet börjar suga. Men amning ska inte ska göra ont, mer än möjligen just i starten.

    Ibland är det svårt att veta när bebisen är hungrig. I den här artikeln tipsar vi om bebisens signaler på att det är dags att amma.
