    I den här artikeln hittar du råd kring bröstmjölksersättning. Vi går igenom hur du blandar den och hur du eventuellt kombinerar den med amning.

    Alla familjer har olika upplägg när det kommer till den lilla bebisen och mat. En del ammar, en del ger bröstmjölksersättning och andra ger både och. Hur just ni gör är upp till er och vilka behov som finns i familjen. Om man väljer att ge barnet ersättning den första tiden så finns här en del råd att tänka på.

    Modersmjölksersättningen ger barnet den energi och näring som det behöver, och den ersättning som finns att köpa är gjord för att likna bröstmjölkens innehåll av näringsämnen så mycket som möjligt.

    Det finns olika sorters ersättningar att välja mellan. På BVC kan du få råd om vilken sort som är mest lämplig för ditt barn. Däremot ska du aldrig blanda egen modersmjölksersättning av vanlig mjölk eller liknande, eftersom det inte går att själv få till rätt proportioner av näringsämnen. Blanda inte heller i olja eller andra ingredienser i ersättningen du köper. Fel proportioner kan skada barnets njurar eller göra att barnet inte växer som det ska.

    Kombinera amning och bröstmjölksersättning

    Ibland kan man vilja kombinera amning med modersmjölksersättning. För många går det bra, men för en del leder det till att amningen upphör tidigare än planerat. Det kan bero på att produktionen av bröstmjölk inte stimuleras tillräckligt eller på att barnet föredrar att suga på nappflaskan, eftersom maten kommer snabbare från den.

    Man kan ge ersättning i kopp istället för flaska om man börjar tidigt.Om det är möjligt är det också bra att vänta tills mjölkproduktionen har kommit igång ordentligt och blivit stabil innan man börjar ge ersättning. Å andra sidan finns det mammor som kan behöva ge ersättning i början, men sedan övergår till att bara amma.

    Att blanda ersättning

    Eftersom barn är känsliga för infektioner är det viktigt att vara noga med hygienen när du gör i ordning ersättningen. Tvätta därför alltid händerna innan du börjar. Det är också viktigt att använda rena flaskor och nappar och att de diskas noggrant, men de måste inte steriliseras.

    När du ska blanda ersättningen bör du använda kallt vatten som du sedan värmer upp, eftersom varmvattnet från kranen kan innehålla koppar från ledningarna. Blanda ersättningen enligt instruktioner på förpackningen.
    Där står det också hur länge färdigblandad ersättning håller. Ersättningen som blir över efter att barnet har ätit slänger du.
