10 must-haves to pack when traveling with young children

    Sponsored by Bugaboo

Whether you're planning a sunny vacation, a weekend with the family or a trip back home, the new Bugaboo Butterfly 2 makes it easier as a family. It's lightweight, folds in a second and is carry-on approved for flights - meaning you don't have to check it in and can roll all the way to the gate.

New design and smart features that make a difference

    • The new backrest can be adjusted from a sitting to a lying position, making it just as good for curious explorers as for children who need to rest on the road.
    • Larger wheels for an even smoother ride, even in urban areas or on uneven surfaces
    • An adjustable footrest that is easily adjusted with one hand
    • A handy back pocket for pacifiers, snacks or that important boarding pass
    • Removable cover with peekaboo window - so you can always keep an eye on them while they sleep
    • Made of bioplastic - for those who want to make a more sustainable choice

Traveling with children is not always easy. But with the right packing (and a well-thought-out stroller), traveling is both easier and more fun. Here are the our 10 must-haves to take on your trip and why Bugaboo Butterfly 2 is a game changer for families on the move.

    1. Diapers and wipes: Always count on more people than you think you need. Plan for leaks, accidents and unforeseen situations. Pack diapers, unscented wipes and a foldable changing mat for hygienic diaper changes wherever you are.
    2. Child's passport (if you are going abroad) Before you even start dreaming about the trip, check the validity of your child's passport. It can take some time to get a new passport, so be sure to check early! Pack your passport or boarding passes in the Bugaboo Butterfly 2's back pocket for easy access during your trip.
    3. D-drops: Continue to give D-drops as usual, even when traveling. Small bottles are easy to pack!
    4. Pacifiers and the pacifier blanket: For many children, their dummy or pacifier is an important symbol of security. Don't forget to pack at least two of each (if possible) - in case one gets lost!
    5. Bugaboo Butterfly 2: A travel stroller makes a big difference. The Bugaboo Butterfly 2 is incredibly easy to fold and carry, making it perfect for travel by plane, train or bus. What's more, your child can sleep soundly in it in full recline, which is invaluable on long journeys or during excursions.
    6. Snacks: A hungry child is rarely a happy child. Pack some snacks such as corn hooks, raisins, fruit, vegetable sticks and rice cakes.
    7. Thermos with hot water: A thermos of hot water is worth its weight in gold if you need to make gruel, porridge or mix infant formula on the move. You won't be dependent on finding hot water.
    8. Travel pharmacy: A small travel pharmacy is a must. Pack patches in different sizes, a fever thermometer, antipyretics, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and any allergy medication or other medication the child needs.
    9. Toys: Choose a few favorite toys that don't take up too much space. Books, small figurines, crayons and paper can keep the child busy during the trip or the day.
    10. Sun hat/cap: Protect your child's sensitive skin from the sun by packing a sun hat or cap. Choose a model that fits well and protects both face and neck.
