    I den här artikeln tänker vi prata mer om hur vägen till graviditet kan se ut för HBTQ-personer.

    Många har en önskan om att få bli förälder, men vägen dit kan se olika ut, i synnerhet gällande HBTQ-personer. Familjebildningen kan se olika ut, vill jag bli förälder ensam, tillsammans med någon eller några och hur skulle i så fall det se ut? Vill jag bli gravid, har jag möjlighet att bli gravid, skulle jag önska att en partner eller annan person bär barnet, är frågor man kan komma att ställas inför. Hur ser det ut gällande föräldraskap och hur många föräldrar önskar jag för mitt barn?

    I Sverige har vi en del lagar, normer och rättigheter som reglerar ovanstående och det är viktigt att läsa på vilka möjligheter som finns i familjebildningen. Rent praktiskt kan vårdprocessen och köerna se olika ut mellan regionerna. Juridiskt sett kan endast två personer vara föräldrar till ett barn, men att vara förälder kan vara mycket mer än så.

    Den som bär barnet blir automatiskt vårdnadshavare för barnet och lever du i en parrelation behöver medföräldern ansöka om att få bli vårdnadshavare till barnet först efter att barnet är fött. Det är samma regler oavsett om det är ett samkönat eller heterosexuellt par som skaffar barn.

    Sedan 2005 tillåter Sverige samkönade kvinnopar att få hjälp med assisterad befruktning, dvs via insemination eller IVF, med offentlig finansiering. 2013 tog man bort kravet på sterilisering för transpersoner varför män som är födda med kvinnliga könsorgan fick samma rättigheter i parrelation och 2016 tillät man även självstående (ensamstående) med kvinnligt könsorgan. Om du däremot vill bilda familj eller bli gravid med hjälp av assisterad befruktning tillsammans med en eller flera personer utanför en parrelation är det idag inte tillåtet i Sverige. Om två män vill skaffa barn är det idag inte tillåtet med tex surrogatmödraskap i Sverige.

    Inom Sverige väljer en del även att gå via privatkliniker om tex köerna är för långa i regionen gällande statlig finansiering. Statlig finansiering täcker endast att visst antal försök, varför vissa kan komma att försöka ytterligare via privat finansiering.

    Lagarna kring assisterad befruktning kan se olika ut länder emellan. Därför kan HBTQ-personer komma att ta hjälp av till exempel assisterad befruktning i andra länder. Det kan vara anledningar såsom möjlighet till anonym donator, surrogatmödraskap eller flexiblare åldersgränser.

    Tips på vägen:
    • Se efter vad som gäller i just din region utifrån ditt eller era förutsättningar
    • Försök om möjligt att ha god framförhållning då processen kan ta tid
    • Ta gärna in erfarenheter från andra som gjort samma resa
