    Kanske upplever du att du har för mycket mjölk eller stark utdrivningsreflex? Det är inte ovanligt under tiden då mjölken rinner till.

    Fysiologiskt rinner mjölken till under dag 3-5 efter förlossningen, vilket är helt normalt. Brösten blir spända av all mjölk som bildas och det är lätt att tro att man har fått mjölkstockning. Efter detta ställer brösten om sig utifrån barnet eller barnens behov. Oftast hanterar både den ammande och barnet mjölkproduktionens omställning väl, men det gäller att ha tilltro till både sin egen kropp och barnets förmåga att lägga sin beställning.

    Den här övergången i mjölkproduktionen som innebär stasade bröst var ett mer utbrett problem innan vi introducerade fri amning i Sverige. Med fri amning menas att amma på barnets signaler. Ibland kan det däremot vara så att omställningen inte anpassas och om du har för mycket mjölk brukar det märkas efter ungefär ett par veckor.

    Så vet du att du har en stark utdrivningsreflex

    Om du har för mycket mjölk och en stark utdrivningsreflex så brukar barnet få svårt att hämta andan när bröstet hastigt ger ifrån sig för mycket mjölk. Barnet får därför svårt att hålla sig kvar vid bröstet och kanske stånkar och hostar för att mjölken rinner till för snabbt. För mycket mjölk kan generera gasig mage och lös avföring hos barnet, vilket i sig kan leda till att barnet får svårt att komma till ro.

    Tips om du har en kraftig utdrivningsreflex

    • Amma på ett och samma bröst under hela amningstillfället, du kan även göra det vid två-tre amningstillfällen innan du byter bröst, då får brösten tid att anpassa sig.

    • Se till att det bröstet som barnet inte ammar på, inte har något som klämmer eller skaver på bröstet. Använd en rymlig BH.

    • Handmjölka ur brösten något innan du ammar ditt barn. Då minskar den kraftigaste utdrivningsreflexen. Här kan du läsa om hur man handmjölkar!
