    Simple breathing exercise during childbirth

    I den här artikeln går vi igenom en enkel övning som kan hjälpa dig att hitta både lugn och fokus inför och under förlossningen.

    Under förlossningen är det lätt att ryckas med och kämpa emot smärtan. Därför kan det vara bra att ha en andningsövning nära till hands, som hjälper dig att hitta tillbaka till lugnet och det som du kan påverka – nämligen andningen.

    En bra andningsövning som är enkel att minnas är en variant där du föreställer dig att du andas i en fyrkant. Känner du att oro eller ångest är på väg kan du ta hjälp av övningen, inte bara under förlossningen när du vill hitta fokus, utan även i stressade eller ångestfyllda situationer.

    Såhär gör du andningsövning under förlossningen:

    1. Blunda och visualisera en fyrkant. Tänk att du fäster blicken vid det nedre vänstra hörnet. Andas långsamt in genom näsan medan du räknar till fyra och för blicken upp mot det övre vänstra hörnet. Fortsätt att blunda genom hela övningen.

    2. Håll andan och räkna långsamt till fyra medan du vandrar över till det högra övre hörnet.

    3. Andas långsamt ut och räkna till fyra medan du låter blicken vandra från det övre högra hörnet till det nedre högra hörnet.

    4. Håll andan och vandra långsamt över till det vänstra nedre hörnet av fyrkanten där du startade.

    Fortsätt med övningen ett par varv, tills du känner att du återfått lugnet.

    Värkarna är något bra

    Glöm inte att värkarna är i grund och botten något bra, de för förlossningen framåt och närmare ditt barns födelse! Försök att acceptera värkarna snarare än att fly från dem, och försök att dyka med i smärtan och följa värkarbetets gång. I värkpaus försöker du att vara så tung och avslappnad som det bara går. Var här och nu. Genom att dyka med i smärtan under värk kan du hjälpa din kropp i att utföra den naturliga förlossningsprocessen. På det här sättet kan du underlätta tilliten till din kropp och förmågan att föda ditt barn.

    Värkar är unika i form av att du faktiskt får en paus mellan varje värk. Under ett intensivt värkarbete är det lätt att redan under värkpaus spänna sig inför nästa värk. Var här och nu, njut och slappna av i värkpauser. Klappa dig på axeln för att du fixat ännu en värk. Försök att tänka att du nu är ännu en värk mindre ifrån att möta ditt snart nyfödda barn. Ofta spänner du axlarna när du har ont. Ta några djupa andetag som får dig att slappna av i axlarna och bli tung i kroppen. Här kan du som partner med fördel lägga dina händer på den födandes axlar så hon blir medveten om var hon ska släppa sina spänningar. När värkarna kommer kan du hjälpa henne att hitta fokus i andningen genom att andas med henne, i samma takt.
